Tortilla plant in Columbus County rewarded for exceeding goals

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A company in the Industrial Park in Columbus County has created dozens of new jobs and are being rewarded by county officials. Columbus County officials told owners of Tortimex Quality Tortillas they would give them a $20,000 if they created at least 20 jobs. The owners of the company exceeded the county’s expectations and created 30 positions. The county presented the president of the plant with the grant money Tuesday.
