Mayonnaise may be America’s favorite condiment, but salsa is #2. And you can’t eat salsa without a delivery system — so that means we’re eating lots of salty chips.
The U.S. salty snacks market is on the upswing, and is forecast to grow from $24 billion to $29 billion by 2022, Food Business News reports.
According to a report from market research firm Packaged Facts, the salty snacks category grew at a rate of nearly 4 percent from 2012 to 2017 thanks to prominent placement in vending machines, convenience stores and checkout aisles.
