Chatha Foods Limited, an Indian supplier of ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat foods to quick-service chains, has begun commercial production at a new dedicated vegetarian plant in Punjab that includes tortilla and wrap lines, the company said in an Oct. 5, 2026 release. The plant, called CFL Unit II, sits on a 3.5-acre site in Village Toffanpur, Dera Bassi (SAS Nagar). It has an installed capacity of 16,000 metric tonnes a year across all product categories.

The company describes the plant as fully automated, with dedicated lines for cold-pressed breads, retort cooking, forming and coating, and IQF/blast freezing, plus in-house R&D, automated packaging and cold-chain dispatch. The bread lines make tortillas, roti canai, roti and kathi-roll wraps, and Malabari parathas. Other lines make retorted gravies and sauces for restaurant kitchens, and vegetarian snacks such as patties, nuggets, kebabs, samosas and spring rolls. Output is aimed at Chatha's Unifayre foodservice brand and at QSR, HoReCa, institutional and private-label customers in India and international markets. Managing Director Paramjit Singh Chatha called it the company's first dedicated vegetarian unit.

The new plant brings Chatha's three-plant network to 30,800 MT of annual capacity, alongside a 7,800 MT non-vegetarian plant in Mohali and a 7,000 MT joint venture with the Allana Group in Aurangabad. For tortilla readers, the point is cold-pressed wrap capacity built for Indian foodservice, plus stated private-label and export reach. The release doesn't say how much of the 16,000 MT goes to tortillas, and it doesn't name customers. Read the original release for the full product and network breakdown.
