Juanita’s Foods, the Southern California maker of Mexican-style soups, stews, and sauces, is shifting production to a newly acquired roughly 120,000-square-foot plant at 13100 Arctic Circle in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. Food Business News and other trade coverage say the site becomes the company’s primary manufacturing location, with a phased consolidation from its longtime Wilmington, Calif., plant. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Santa Fe Springs facility is not a tortilla line. Juanita’s core retail and foodservice products include menudo, pozole, and hominy — Mexican comfort foods that sit next to nixtamalized-corn and SoCal Mexican-food manufacturing capacity rather than flatbread or tortilla output.

Juanita’s is an Apex Capital portfolio company; Food Processing reported Apex acquired Juanita’s in April 2025. Trade coverage notes the Santa Fe Springs building previously housed Bumble Bee seafood operations. CEO Robert Rosales framed the move around roughly 80 years of Southern California history and said Santa Fe Springs gives the company capacity for its next chapter.
